Course description

Tourism and its different functions. Features of tourism industry. Problems in promoting tourism product. Travelling as a value chain and tourist experience. Definition and function of intermediaries in tourism. Areas, forms and effects of intermediaries. Formal and informal intermediaries in tourism. Role of intermediaries at different stages of tourist experience. Chain of distribution in tourism and its components. Current changes in the chain of distribution. Strategies of distribution. Role of the Internet. Interpretation as a way of intermediary. Issues with quality and professional ethics for intermediaries.
