Course description

System and functioning of tourism. Characteristics of tourism industry. Problems in placing tourist products. Travelling as value chain for customers and tourist experience. Definition and function of intermediaries in tourism. Scope, forms and effects of intermediaries. Formal and informal intermediaries in tourism. Role of intermediaries at certain stages in tourist experience. Economic, legal, cognitive and emotional aspects of intermediaries. Distribution system in tourism and its components. Current changes in the distribution system. Strategies of distribution. Role of the Internet. Interpretation as a form of intermediaries. Problems with quality and professional deontology in intermediaries.
